Your data
Delete your Shelfes account
How to delete your account in Shelfes, the home inventory app made by Structyne Inc., and what happens to your data when you do.
In the app
- Open Shelfes on your phone, or sign in at app.shelfes.com.
- Go to Settings, then Profile.
- Choose Delete your account, type your email address, and confirm it is you with your password or by signing in with Google or Apple again.
You are signed out, and we email you a confirmation of what was deleted.
If you can't sign in
Email [email protected] from the address you use for Shelfes and ask us to delete your account. We reply to that address to check the request came from you, and we answer within 30 days.
Your households
You leave every household that other people share with you right away. If you are the only owner of one, first make another member an owner or delete the household. The app lists the households this applies to.
A household that only you use is deleted along with your account, after the same 30-day grace period as deleting a household yourself. Until then you can sign in and choose Keep my household, which also keeps your account.
What is deleted
- Your account: your name, email address, language, password, the link to your Google or Apple sign-in, and every session on every device. This happens right away, or at the end of the 30 days if a household that only you use is being deleted.
- Your membership in households you share, right away.
- Households that only you use, with every item, location, photo and receipt in them, after 30 days.
What we keep, and for how long
- Items, photos and receipts you added to a household you share belong to that household and stay in it. Its activity history still shows what was done, without your name.
- Backups that still contain your data age out within 35 days. Server logs are overwritten as they fill up.
- Payment records, which we and Stripe must keep for tax law, normally six years.
- Messages you sent us through the contact form or by email, for two years after the conversation ends.
- The record of actions our staff took, for two years.
- A note that the account was deleted, which holds dates and counts but not your name or email address, for two years.
Paid plans
Deleting a household that only you use cancels its Premium plan, except a subscription bought through the App Store, which only you can cancel in your Apple account. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play for a household you share, leaving it does not stop the subscription, so cancel it in the store.
